A first call to tender was launched at the international level in October 2012, which allowed publishers to propose 236 documentary products. A first selection of 25 resources was made, taking into account the results of the survey into researchers’ requirements, which had been carried out in the autumn of 2012.
Amongst the 236 offers, certain more specialised resources, or those concerning documentary products that are new to the French market, were analysed for the conception of a second list of resources selected in view of an acquisition.
The national test campaign that took place from the 1st of October to the 30th of November 2013 allowed researchers and academic-researchers to become aware of these products. Furthermore, they could give their opinion via an on-line survey.
The elements of analysis and evaluation thus obtained constituted important information to judge both the scientific interest of the proposed resources and their usefulness for the French research communities.
